this is great. I find that when I comment, I begin with my last thought, so keep that in mind when you read it 
The background is phenomenal. It seems to me to dwell just in the outskirts of my perception in the presence of the visual impact granted by the motive. At the same time it adds an incredible amount to the overall visual impression. I can't see his pose, but I get the feeling it too adds to the impression his facial expression gives. Amazing texture on the skin, great detail from the waterdrops. Great lighting on the face aswell, it doesnt make it contrast much keeping it in balance with the background, yet the lighting does not look bland in any way. And finally, and of course the first thing I noticed about this piece, his eyes. amazing detail and his look is almost paralyzing.
Great, soft contrast, interesting crop and overall awesome focus and detail. In my opinion one of your best pieces so far.
